One rule explains almost everything on this page:
Anything you add starts now. Anything you remove ends at the end of the period you have already paid for.
You bought the month. You keep the month.

Adding

Upgrades, extra sites and add-ons all take effect the moment you confirm, and are prorated against your current period. You get the feature immediately and pay only for the part of the month you use.

Removing

Cancelling an add-on, releasing a site or downgrading to Free all schedule the change for your renewal date. Until then nothing changes at all — same limits, same features, same access. The billing screen shows what is pending and when it lands.

Undo is free

Because a removal has not been sent to our payment provider yet, cancelling it is instant and costs nothing. Hit Undo any time before the date and it is as if you never asked. If you change your mind by re-buying instead — say you cancel the articles add-on and then buy it again a week later — that also cancels the pending removal. You will not end up with two.

Downgrading to Free

Free covers one site, so if you have several you must say which one to keep. We will not choose for you. On the day it applies:
  • The site you kept stays fully active on the Free allowances.
  • Your other sites are archived, not deleted.
  • Publishing and rank tracking switch off.
  • Dependent add-ons end. A backlinks subscription keeps running — it never required Pro.
Everything is still there: articles, keyword research, clusters, audits, site settings, ranking history. The project is hidden and read-only. Re-subscribing restores it exactly as you left it. We do not put your content on a deletion clock.

Releasing a site

Same rules, one extra guard: if the site still has an add-on attached, we refuse and tell you which one. Silently orphaning an add-on would leave you paying for something attached to a project you can no longer open. Cancel the add-on first, or pick a different site.

When your limit drops below what you have used

Suppose you are on 90 articles a month, you have used 70, and you move down to 30. You are simply at 0 remaining until your next monthly reset, when it returns to 30. We do not delete articles you already generated, and the number never goes negative — the screen will say 0 of 30 remaining, not -40.

What is never deleted

Cancelling and archiving take away access. They never destroy work.

Kept indefinitely

Articles, keyword plans, clusters, audits, ranking history and site configuration.

Untouched

Anything already published to your own site. We never reach back into your CMS to remove it.
